Yes you can use it with another firewall.

It works in a different way compared to a firewall, so you can use it with your existing firewall, as @frogboy said.
Tested some time ago, thanks to another giveaway, it is a good product.

Not tested with Avast but looking at their website, it does not seem to have compatibility problems with AVs in general.
Best thing is to test it yourself
