I found this forum while looking for software to sync files, and investigating conduit search, offered as an addon with the freefilesync from sourceforge. Thought it might be needed as it is recommended by the installer. Should be OK if it is from an opensource program on sourceforge. Wrong. I do not believe I have ever seen any addon programs with an installer that have not have been threats.
