I'm a new member on this community. I am in need of assistance because I've been searching for solutions for something I don't think ever happened to anyone. I use Google chrome on windows 10. I don't know how I got conduit in Google chrome but I never downloaded conduit in the first place. I didn't even need to remove conduit from my PC. But Adware Cleaner is detecting conduit. I tried to clean it, it removes it. But when I opened up chrome it detected again. (It says, startup_url search.conduit + file location which is in chrome) So I tried reinstalling Chrome and reset settings. I scanned with Adware cleaner nothing showed up thank god. I login to chrome, scanned and conduit pops up. So I downloaded Chrome Cleanup Tool, it found nothing. I tried scanning it with Malwarebytes and Hitmam Pro, neither one detected anything. It's just Adware Cleaner that's detecting it, is it a false alarm by the program or is conduit hidden really well within Chrome? So I am at a lost, please help.

Welcome to MalwareTips @David98 :)
Visit this link...MalwareTips - Remove Conduit
Thank you so much for answering!!! I've used that article but my situation is not being solved. I can't tell if I'm paranoid or there's something hidden. I followed all the steps but it's still problematic. It only happens when I login to chrome. If I use chrome without login Adware Cleaner does not detect conduit. So is conduit imbedded in my chrome account? And is that even possible? I'm just stuck. I've spent the pass 3 hours looking for different solutions. Non has worked that's why I signed up here to see if anyone has any suggestions on how to solve this issue. Thanks for reading.

I read and understand the procedure but my computer is not infected with Malware. My case is special in its circumstances because I can't find anything related to my topic. Please re-read my situation. Is it Adware Cleaner messing up which I doubt but please understand I used both Malwarebytes and Hitman Pro.

Though it is not considered a virus it is considered a PUP (potentially unwanted software) and it has many similarities to malware.
I am sure @TwinHeadedEagle will be able to help you remove this from your system

Conduit is not in my hardware system but it's origin lies in Chrome. I uninstalled Chrome without logging into it, Adware Cleaner did not detect conduit. However, I logged in to chrome then Adware Cleaner detected Conduit. I honestly believe at this point there's a mess up in the software's end not mine. Somehow conduit infected my chrome account not Chrome. And yes I've followed online guides none had worked yet. Please understand my circumstances, if you'd like I will provide screen shots to prove my allegations and theory.

I might just contact Chrome support to see what my next move is. I know Adwares aren't potential threats but the knowledge of knowing that conduit is tracking me makes me unease. If anyone has any advice please let me know. And I have been removing conduit all afternoon. ( Gyazo - a5fbd495ba7f9be743885aeb43c9b961.png ) It comes back as soon as I open up the logged in chrome. I uploaded a AdwCleaner Log to anyone interested in viewing. Thanks for all of your time and if this problem is resolved I will sure let you all know.

The video helped solved the solution, I am forever in your debt. The solution was to go into chrome settings. On start up, set pages. That's where search.conduit was hiding. I removed those links and I re-scanned with AdwCleaner and no more detection! Thanks everyone, this whole time it was hiding right under my nose.
Nice! ;)

Nice that you got it sorted:) Stick around on MT if you can. I was exactly the same as you when I first came here, knew nothing about malwares and how they worked, etc. I've learned a great deal about them on this site and learnt how to harden my defences against all sorts of nasties:cool: Been malware-free for almost two years now, thanks to MT:cool:
