I just found malewaretips .com and couldn't be more pleased! I inadvertently infected myself with some adware a few months ago. I was able to clear IE but couldn't get rid of it in Firefox or Chrome so deleted them from my system! Of course, re-installing them did not get rid of the adware. I tried registry cleans, deep-level uninstalls to no avail. Then I found this site and, voila, got rid of it. I followed the instructions explicitly and can now use Firefox and Chrome (my favorite) again.

Welcome to the forums Cornpone :) It's great to hear that you managed to get rid of that nasty adware, I'm sure if you stick around here you'll learn some valuable skills and if you're ever infected by that adware again, you'll just laugh and it will be so scared you won't even need to do any fixing (it will just slither away) :p
