Hi guys i just recently joined MalwareTips. Really looking forward to engaging in thoughtful and interesting conversations with the amazing members of MalwareTips and what better way to start off by asking a question. Well i had a while back stumbled upon something called " comodo leak test" and " PC security test 2011" what are your thoughts on the authenticity of the tests carried out by program such as these. Because antivirus software's such as bitdefender might get pretty high marks from independent testing firms and on personal tests however they always fail tests carried by software such as these. Should i be worried about the security of my PC? What are your insights on the authenticity of the tests carried out by such software? Thanks

Hello and welcome to MalwareTips! :)

Those tools like Comodo Leak test and PC Security test are just the basis on how those Antivirus protects against any vulnerabilities through injections and isn't enough for such traditional signatures but rather than Behavior Blocker or HIPS in order to notify against suspicious attacks without the privilege by users.

No need to worry as long you use Common Sense and these attacks will not encounter unless mistaken by your clicking matters. :)

Hello and Welcome to MalwareTips!

I am not sure about PC Security Test, have never used it, but Comodo's leaktest is a firewall testing tool only, and it measures the ability of anything leaving the system through the firewall as the name "leak test" suggests.. This is only a problem if you have already been infected.
I would not concern yourself with this, and focus more on developing safe surfing habits. There is plenty of reading in this forum on how to surf safer, and bolster your config to fit your needs and uses, of course this will take some trial and error on your part, not relying on opinions as much as trying for yourself.
