Today is the start of our preview, which represents an opportunity to learn together as we roll out and scale this new service. We know your email is important and you need a service that puts you in control, and we're looking forward to your feedback. Once you're using the service, just click Feedback in the Outlook.com Options menu and let us know what you think. If you have questions about this post, feel free to leave a comment here on our blog, or join us on Reddit later today where we're hosting an "Ask me anything" at 11am PST. We have a lot more we'll be sharing on this blog, and we look forward to continuing this conversation with you.

A lot has changed in the last eight years, and we think it' time for a fresh look at email - modern, connected, smart, powerful, and in control. So try out the preview at Outlook.com. We think you'll like what you see.

Edit: those who don't have Hotmail account can go to outlook.com and you can signup for Outlook.com

Their login screen has changed but for me, once I log in, I still get the same old interface.

Under options: there is a new option called Upgrade to Outlook.com .

I suppose the user will need to upgrade to get the look you currently have. If so, can you revert back to previous UI?

So basically, old interface users (i.e. me) can upgrade to outlook.com, while users on outlook.com (i.e. you) can switch back to hotmail.

At least we have the option.

Although I am always open to improvements, I will pass for now on the upgrade. Still prefer the current UI and the colors with the metro style is not yet appealing to me.

Another thing people are not going to be happy with.

What actually made Microsoft use a Retro approach for their 2012/13 releases?
Need for big icons and squares so people who needs glasses can see it easier? From a minimalistic user point of view, I fail to find a reasonable answer...

Plus don't even use the online web mail unless I need to on my phone. I mainly use Outlook 2010.
