I have a Hotmail account.
When Outlook preview released, I was able to create a Outlook account, the same username as Hotmail with different password.

Now I have kinda 2 Outlook account with same username & different passwords And different mails So both are kinda 2 different account with same username.
I can login into Outlook
I can login as @hotmail & it opens as Outlook

What about you guys?

Please note, this was not present at the time of new Outlook Preview for existing Hotmail/Live/MSN account holders. It's now possible.

You can assign an Alias account for your Hotmail/Live/MSN account ending in @Outlook.com

For example:
  1. Registered in 2005 with my_email_mt@Hotmail.com
  2. Under existing Hotmail account, you can create a new Alias account with my_email_mt@Outlook.com
  3. Assign my_email_mt@Outlook.com as Primary email ID for Hotmail for Login
  4. For extra security: Remove my_email_mt@Hotmail.com to be used as Login for Outlook.com/Outlook apps

@Yash Khan What Info do you need?

I have a single Microsoft account.

Spawn,

No probs, just wanted to know why/how I have 2 account with same username for the same domain i.e Outlook i.e

myemailmt@hotmail.com signs me into Outlook
myemailmt@outlook.com signs me into Outlook
Both have different passwords BUT username is same for both AND inbox have different emails SO 2 same username, both signs into Outlook And both have different emails, isn't it kinda 2 accounts with same username for the same domain, how is it possbile?

You created a new Outlook.com account alongside your existing Hotmail account. That's why you have both.

@msn.*
@hotmail.*
@live.*
@outlook.*

Outlook.com is an all-new Hotmail/MSN/Live email service. It's essentially the same allowing previously released suffixes for Microsoft users. It's slightly different for Education and Business, where their domain name is allowed after the @ sign.

Spawn,

Is it still possbile to create outlook account with the same username as hotmail account?

Spawn,

So if I delete my hotmail account, my outlook account will remain intact, right?
