Following is a simple registry tweak which can be done in order to disable your USB ports to be used for any storage device.
1- Press Windows key on your key board to view Start menu
2-Type ‘regedit’ and hit Enter to open Registry Editor
3- Navigate the key USBStor in the left most pane of Registry Editor, via following path
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Services/USBStor
4- Now in the right pane, locate the value Start with the Value Data as 3
5- Double click the value to Modify
6- Change the Value Data to 4
7--Click Ok and Exit Registry Editor
8- Reboot your computer
You can easily reverse this action by repeating the first six steps from above and Changing the Value Data back to 3.
