This guide will be useful for the following:

• Offline installation
• Extra copy of CRX
• Download without installation
• Checking for malware, [Specimen 1]

Slightly modified version, for better ease of understanding.

1. On the Chrome Web Store, find the Extension you wish to download (without installing). Check the address bar to see the URL with the Extension ID. It will be something like 30-40 random A-Z characters

   after the URL

   https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/

2. Paste this URL into your browser (do NOT use Chrome/Chromium), and remember to replace the ~~~~ with the Extension ID

3. You’ll be prompted to save a CRX file.

Once provided a copy of CRX, an alternative way to install is to go on extension tab and tick developer mode; which you may load the packages and installed already.
