While it may be understandable for removing Beta/RC versions. You don't see people Degrading to old versions of Firefox or Chrome, so why with IE. If you're not going to use IE, just Turn Off Internet Explorer from the Features.

True, but if a user installed it by mistake and wanted to keep IE8 then they have this option of getting rid of IE9.
