Advice Request Installing Vivaldi in Program Files

By default Vivaldi does install in the hidden App Data folder, if I change that option and make it install in Program Files folder, would that be bad from a security standpoint?

The reverse should be true because Windows protects Program Files with UAC. AppData is a well-known and used target for malware. Does V give you that option on install?

Thanks for pointing that out. In Vivaldi installer there is an "Advanced" button and clicking on it gives you the option to choose installation path. The default installs Vivaldi in the current user directory, but if you tick install for all users, then it will install in Program files.

Correct. You need to run the installer as admin in order to do this though. I agree with @oldschool; installing Vivaldi in \Program Files\ would be more secure because of how Windows 10+ locks that directory down. That's where I have mine installed.

Why are Vivaldi files still in the Windows user Registry and CCleaner even after uninstalling Vivaldi? I even did System Restore and still find Vivaldi files in the Registry and on CCleaner.
