The International CES is packed to the rafters with the latest in shiny, often expensive high-tech gadgets, so it's no surprise that theft is a problem for companies exhibiting at the show.

Several vendors who rent space on the show floor said they had been victims of crime over the week of the show. They were mostly incidents of petty theft, or petit larceny as it's called in the state of Nevada, though one company said its booth had been broken into overnight.

If those with booths don't have sense enough to not have their merchandise scattered all about while helping customers (check picture in article) and don't have the intelligence to realize that they need to keep everything behind the counter in glass cases that lock, and that have a steel or aluminum shell around said glass for night time security; I don't think they need to be in that line of work. imho

I used to be in retail, and theft is part of retail, no matter where you live or what you sell. Anyone selling anything should have sense enough to be able to constantly reduce "shrink" at all costs, thus constantly increasing profits.

Maybe Nancy Pelosi or a Tzar has a solution for them, and that is exactly what the helpless tech retail sheeple are waiting for. The heavier we lean on the government due to lack of accountability and common sense, the more incompetent and inept we shall become. Then more taxes will, yet again, be the answer as to "fix it".

Tragedy for the vendors...loosing one or two pieces will ruin them... :D
