Hi Everyone,

I keep getting an error message which says "Error during execution "bin\ise_installer\isestaart. The operation was canceled by the user". Could someone please help me?

Kind Regards

Can you explain, is this a Windows error or it is related to a software installation?

COMODO

Internet Security Essentials (ise_installer.exe)

or it could be something else.

Note, the OP reports he started to see the error months ago and has not been able to figure out what to fix. Appears like installed C and perhaps uninstalled it.

Could be a remnant. I'm out of the loop on C, but I'd check startup items using CCleaner. If it is a remnant startup, it should be found there.

You are correct, I think it might be coming from Comodo, but I did not uninstall it at all. I just randomly started getting this error message a month ago. I have a feeling its a small malware, because I think its because of this small error message, where I got a big message on my pc yesterday saying "out of memory", which made my PC freeze, which I never got before. I scanned pc using comodo and malwarebytes yesterday, and I was able to find and remove 1 virus type file. Please advice me further, as I am not sure how to remove this error message

I would run the repair feature (see help file) in Comodo before doing the steps below:

1. Uninstall Comodo
2. Reboot
3. Run CCleaner - both file cleaner and registry cleaner
4. Download latest version of Comodo
5. Reinstall

Hi @taga

Firstly, please backup any important data before we start troubleshootinng as this is crucial. You can use a USB, External Hard Drive or the Cloud.

Secondly, please open up CMD as Administrator, then type the following command and press enter:
sfc /scannow
Please be patient and let it run. This will take some time. After that, please type this command and press enter:
findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log >"%userprofile%\Desktop\sfcdetails.txt"

After you have done that last command, a sfcdetails text file will be created on your desktop, please upload that and attach it to your next reply.

I don't think it's related to windows corruption, but running "sfc /scannow" won't do any harm. So go ahead.
Most likely its comodo related so go with lockdown's advice.

just looking at the message, "bin\ise_installer\isestaart" the "isestaart" part sticks out to me... the extra "a" in "isestaart" ?? (assuming its normally supposed to be "isestart" for Comodo related stuff??)

Unless the OP's not using english as their OS language i guess?

Hi RECdevicehelper,

If I open up CMD as Administrator, then type the following command and press enter:
sfc /scannow

And type the below command and press enter:
findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log >"%userprofile%\Desktop\sfcdetails.txt"

Will any of the above suggestions you told me to do harm my PC in anyways?, where I would have to re-install Windows 7 again?, since I am curious to why you told me to backup my DATA?

No these commands will not harm your PC. They are used to identify corrupt system files which could be causing the issue.

Now, the reason I tell everyone to back up their system before diagonsing and resolving technical issue is because if you do in fact face a critical issue , rest assured, you won't have to worry about data loss or recovering it. That means we can work on the system with knowing that all important data is saved :)
