I do not use third-party firewall,
All suspicious File run at VirtualBox/VMWare First.
so i have no need to install firewall:sleepy:

if you consider your Level of security risk to be medium. then, you can use more features than MSE. that's Avast free.

I just giving you a suggestion. it's up to you.
you can see on youtube, tests between MSE and Avast, in detection and prevention rate.

A good and nice setup. I'd suggest that you switch to Avast! Free Antivirus since it's got more security features that can further secure your PC. And since you're on a 32-Bit Operating System, I'd suggest that you give Sandboxie a try. The paid version is worth the cash since it's a lifetime license and it's highly configurable too. Saves you the time in running unknown files in a VM.

For hardening implementation you can add EMET (Enhanced Mitigation Experience Toolkit)

And add Comodo Cleaning Essentials as your tools for second opinion.

Aaa .. I love your choice for on-demand scanners! Very professional and sufficient.

Then if you wish, add also:

* TDSS Remover by Esage Lab( I consider it's better than kaspersky's .. what you think?): http://esagelab.com/resources.php?n=software

* MBRCheck: http://majorgeeks.com/MBRCheck_d7076.html

* MBAM free: http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free

* UVK: http://www.carifred.com/uvk/

* MyDefrag: http://www.mydefrag.com/ - by independent developer, so ..;)

Exactly, my Box .. you see, in large companies easily installs the bureaucracy, so the quality of their products decreases .. Examples are numerous (but I do not say anything to avoid hitting a few ..)

.. Then donate to independent developers!:cool:

And ... firewall?? If you use Win7 Firewall, you should use "Windows 7 Firewall Control", like: Windows 7 firewall control (sphinx-soft), Windows Firewall Notifier (http://wokhan.online), etc

do you come across a lot of rootkits? You should pickup some on-demand scanners that scan for more than just rootkits.

PowerTool v4.2, Gmer, aswMBR are for rootkits
Xuetr v0.45 i've never heard of.

I wouldn't say they are more cool but whatever floats his boat, there are many useful malware removal tools, also maybe add in a ccleaner or diskmax for crap removal
