I feel that Kaspersky will lose protection, after the ban. (Independent of the protection layers). I currently have Kaspersky, since I bought it at a very discounted price, but after the ban in the US and part of Europe I am beginning to doubt whether to continue with them or not.
I feel that Norton (Gen: Avast - Avira and Norton), will be a worthy successor to Kaspersky.

And they're already wisely promoting it that way on their websites. (AVG as well)

As always, these types of tests are just crazy, who will get such amount and bunch of malware at the same time?

Another question, why the heck none of the YT testers let Kaspersky do its disinfection correctly, letting Advanced Disinfection ends its working to reboot the system?

Also, how can We know all the files in those packs are actually real malware? I'm sure that if We could send all this malware pack to K. analysts, probably a good % will be considered just clean...

As a Second Opinion Scanner only Sophos tool? 🙄

Earlier I would have recommended Kaspersky as it is much cheaper than Avast and offers so many features. But on the basis of a user-friendly interface and protection against viruses Avast is the best option.
But if I have to choose Avast, I prefer to go for Norton. Much lighter, not as much process in ram and not as much advertising.

It is the company of the future. And it doesn't surprise me that they are the best on the market.
Company of the future ? They are just one big DATA mining company, why do you think they buy other AV companies ? Not because they want to be the best, DATA is Money, AV is just a nice side addition to it because those antivirus programs collect a lot of DATA, imagine what is transmitted to their servers.....

Every company collects data if you don't know it, there is no company that doesn't do it. This is how the internet works. Gen are 3 quite powerful companies. Symantec-Avira and Avast. It is inevitable that Norton will improve its protection and products by uniting these two giants. It's just applying common sense. It's like when several companies came together and created the Buggatti Veron, the fastest car in the world. Here it is something similar.

Maybe maybe not, just after talking to some ex members of Gen, things became a lot clearer ;-)

I agree. I know some of you will laugh at this one, but I installed Avira Pro on some of my devices yesterday, so far I'm impressed. They've come a long way since the days of Luke Filewalker. Some nice features, low system impact and so far on one of my business PC's, it likes it (software runs without any lags).

About the noise, I've been using the Kaspersky Standard trial version using keys provided by another forum member in one of the threads here, and every few days a popup would still show up, telling me that I'm using a trial version and should consider upgrading. The popup can't be disabled.

For the free version, a popup would show up every month or so about upgrading for this or that feature.

For Avast, I had to turn on gaming mode and "do not disturb" for no popups, but any warnings would be given only through a blue dot on the app icon tray.

Finally, Avast felt heavier than Kaspersky.

Just enable the notification settings to "restricted" and remove the unnecessary privacy ticks and you won't have any annoying pop-ups. Furthermore, Avast is now very light on PC resources.

I did that and they still showed up. I read in one of their support pages that the popups can't be disabled. The same goes for those that show up for trial versions.
