I would always recommend uninstalling the old version of a security product and then doing a fresh install of the new version.

Kaspersky is a very good security suite..It is the ONLY suite i would actually purchase because i think it is worth it and its relatively cheap here in england.

As a rule i use free security software but kaspersky is the only exception.

Kaspersky Internet Security! Not working correct on Windows 8 Pro X64! Said loading module is loading for about 4 minutes even after start!
Bitdefender Total Security 2014 seem to the same problem! Now, Bitdefender Free Edition, run great, but require a special uninstall tool,if BitDefender Free Edition with not uninstall.
So, I just install 360 Internet Security. And 360 IS is working fine! With-out uninstall problems and/or start-up problems! And change the setting in 360 IS a little for better security.
