What @Parkinsond said from what I understand, the common people they are referring to, are people who are not aware of the risks that the web offers, and also do not participate in forums like MT, when they participate, they enter the forum to ask for help in removing malware. I'm not generalizing, there are people who register here on MT because they finished college or graduated from a professional IT course and want to learn more, make new friends, share their experiences. Here on MT there are many people who use MD or K and many other products from different types of AV manufacturers. But, most of the members here are people who already have a certain level of knowledge and also experience already acquired years ago and many for decades and there are many veterans here. So, any member here who fits those characteristics I mentioned of an "ordinary" user can use MD without any problems. I myself have a machine with MD and another with K installed without problems and I use both without any problems.Aren't you yourself cautious? If "common" users take you as a behavior model, wouldn't we all be looking for a more leading-edge free solution, despite the common user advice?
All security products by major vendors are good; the difference between regarding protection is not wide. What @Parkinsond said from what I understand, the common people they are referring to, are people who are not aware of the risks that the web offers, and also do not participate in forums like MT, when they participate, they enter the forum to ask for help in removing malware. "I’ve been saying this for years: all major brands offer similar levels of protection. Some malware may bypass one solution and not another, but every product will miss something. Choose your antivirus based on price, impact on your daily performance, and ease of use, in your opinion. Also, not all solutions are optimal for every use case. For instance, if you need good detection on a computer that will be offline most of the time, you should choose a product with strong signature-based detection and behavior analysis that doesn't rely heavily on the cloud. All security products by major vendors are good; the difference between regarding protection is not wide.
Just choose the product most suitable for your use and your PC performance; if you are getting infected or not is a matter of your practice, rather than your security suite.
By the way, I enjoy spending time here learning too many useful stuff; I am in the medical field but my son is studying computer and information science.
Exactly, I believe that many products, especially paid ones, differ only in the additional features, while free products focus more on the basics. All security products by major vendors are good; the difference between regarding protection is not wide.
This is also true of performance, not everyone has a computer or laptop like mine or yours, some older and some younger, taking into social class the countries they live in.Just choose the product most suitable for your use and your PC performance; if you are getting infected or not is a matter of your practice, rather than your security suite.
+1 I like it too, since you started posting here more often, I've started to follow your posts more closely. I myself say that I'm living and learning. Look, that's great medicine, you're seeing a very good area too, I'm glad to hear it. Yes, don't give up, help your son graduate, tell him not to get discouraged, it's an excellent profession too, it has a future and it's worth studying.By the way, I enjoy spending time here learning too many useful stuff; I am in the medical field but my son is studying computer and information science.
Forgive me for asking, but how could you divide my reply into three segments to be able to reply to each segment separately?Exactly, I believe that many products, especially paid ones, differ only in the additional features, while free products focus more on the basics.

It's simple, although @mlnevese answered your question. Don't worry, everything has a first time. If you've worked with HTML you can do anything. Although not even that, here in MT it's quite easy, like Dreamweaver and maybe not even that similar FrontPage - have you heard that it came with Office? Microsoft FrontPage was discontinued in 2006. There's no secret to it.Forgive me for asking, but how could you divide my reply into three segments to be able to reply to each segment separately?
Although I like PC, my computer knowledge is limited; just how to install Windows and applications, secure my system as much as possible, and trying not to make stupid actsIt's simple, although @mlnevese answered your question. Case in point, according to AV-Comparative as far as false positives, F-Secure's "remarkably many" even though the detection was right up there with the rest of them. Kaspersky in this report, excellent.Yes and no.
there is large gap even between major brands in false positive detection.
Yes, final result will show about 100% protection for almost all brands but with very diffent user experience.
