This is great news for Linux users. Kaspersky's Virus Removal Tool (KVRT) will certainly enhance system security. Thanks for sharing the link!

Kaspersky launches KVRT for Linux
I just installed clamav on my MX-Linux VM last night. Read some online comments why av is usually not needed on linux, and if av is needed clamav is good for linux. clamav is in the (default) repos, kvrt isn't. I'm liking clamav on linux as it seems designed for linux from what I gather. Since I am not deeply skilled with linux (yet), I have the feeling that I'd break something with kvrt on linux and wouldn't know how to fix it. One "expert" on some expert website wrote about all the problems he had with clamav (but I think on windows without him clearly saying so!) while clamav on MX installed without incident for me and is (seems) aok. for now, happy with clamav.

Well if you decide not to trust KVRT you are free to do so, especially when clamav is working fine. KVRT is not a permanent AV anyways, it's only useful as a second opinion scanner.

thanks, I'll look at timeshift! what I said about breaking something with kvrt or any app on linux not that well documented or outside distro packaging, it is more that I really dislike that I don't fully understand what I'm doing or what this or that app might do to system etc. I like to feel I'm in control. :ROFLMAO: since my MX is on VMware, if I have had sufficient coffee before doing anything substantial, I would have made a VM_snapshot.

KVRT for Linux is welcomed.

Gee, I wonder if Kapsersky KVRT is banned from US too?

I like KVRT better than any of the other Kaspersky products. Does what I need.
