There are two startup programs added to System Information on my Windows 10 PC. Please see attachments.

NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM, and .DEFAULT are the usernames, with strange symbols for the commands. As you can see from the two attachments, each time you view System Information, the command names change to another language.

Does anyone know if these could be? And why do they appear in a foreign language?

Talking about Your current config:

- You may consider to use these 2 different combos to enhance protection:

1) Windows Defender + VoodooShield Free

or

2) Windows Defender + OSArmor

- As for "Virus and Malware Removal Tools", You may add: ZAM Free and Norton Power Eraser.
- As for "For Disk Imaging Backup", You may add Macrium Reflect Free or AOEMI Backupper, both are free and reliably.
- Consider also to run manual backups of important data to external devices, not only in cloud.
- A PassWord Manager would be welcome also.

Hello, you can add SecureMyBit Deny, it's free and it allows to block by default all WSH scripts (js, jse, vbs, etc.); you can also scan used ports to find backdoors and malware that connect to internet, and it has a good EXE Analyzer. You can install Zemana Antimalware Free which is also good to scan your system.
