Serious Discussion Lightweight antivirus program for laptop

Right now on a very old laptop I'm using McAfee and it doesn't slow anything down at all, so on a gaming PC it must be super lightweight.
Yes it is very light. They released new version released just over a year ago which is only using cloud signatures that is lighter than old versions. Also, they have greatly improved the detection rate. It's a product I would recommend these days, if you don't mind that there is very little to configure, whereas in the past I wouldn't have.

The reality is that Kaspersky has consistently been one of the best antiviruses for a very long time. It's not just my opinion, it does very well in testing. I would go to so far as to say it is arguably the best antivirus. If people don't want to use it due to political reasons, so be it and I don't want to get into a political discussion. But that's not a reason to say it's a bad antivirus.

Not anymore, we fased out Kaspersky at Work, too many unresolved issues and NO active support desk.
We enrolled into Windows Defender Endpoint.

When combined with a firewall and a safe DNS (DoH/DoT), like Quad9 or Adguard, it will do nicely.

I had no issues when I was using it recently and it has great detection rates. I rarely see posts here about people having issues with it. I don't doubt you had issues, but I think it works fine most people.

offcourse we didnt use the consumer version at work, but the Endpoint version.
Detection rate from MS Endpoint way better and more consistent.

Hello friends I bought a gaming laptop today. I want to install a light antivirus program. I have K7 ultimate and webroot security plus license. Which program do you recommend? Is there any other program you recommend?
Install ESET. Best protection.

You can take advantage of Eset discounts on Amazon.in, you need to enter an Indian address in your purchase, you can use sites like india fake address generator for this. After linking the code they give to your eset home account, you need to do the first installation with vpn open or it will not install. I bought 2 years of smart security with this method, I have been using the license on my behalf for about 5 months without any problems.

Need vpn to activate. Even if we activate it with vpn, I think Eset checks it periodically, as if the protection is missing. But Mcafee Antivirus works without vpn so I decided to buy it from Amazon.in

Same for Kaspersky, but you only need to use the VPN once when activating. Also, your account doesn't have to be created in the same country. After that, you can turn off the VPN because the AV will work anywhere after activation.

Also, for the VPN, I use Urban VPN, which is free and has lots of countries to choose from.
