Solved Linkbucks malware on Twitter

I do not see malware on your PC. What you can try is to reset your router hoping this will help. If this doesn't help, then it is somehow related to Twitter.

I still haven't had the chance to reset the router, and the problem is there when clicking on some links from Facebook now as well. One time, my Avast antivirus protection said it prevented four suspicious connections. Can we please make sure, one more time, that my PC is totally clean? I have attached the FRST files. After we confirm this, I will reset the router immediately. Many thanks for your continued assistance.

I reset the router, and the problem was solved for about a week, but it has now returned. Do you have any idea what could be causing this? It seems like there is some sort of underlying issue that needs to be resolved. I haven't downloaded anything over the past week, nor have I visited any websites that could be considered risky at all. FYI -- I am using Avast! Free Antivirus as my antivirus software.

I have attached the FRST files for your reference.

Don't know what to tell you. If this is happening only on Twitter then it is related to Twitter itself.

Many thanks for your help throughout the process. I'll see if I can get to the root of the problem if it is indeed related to Twitter itself. Would you mind closing this thread? Thanks again for all your assistance.

Glad I could help. We will delete all used tools and I'll give you some tips to harden your security and learn how to protect yourself :)

The Importance of Software Updating:

In order to stay protected it is
very important that you regularly update all of your software. Cybercriminals depend on the apathy of users around software updates to keep their malicious endeavor running.

Operating systems, such as Windows, and applications, such as Adobe Reader or JAVA, are used by tens of millions of computers and devices around the world, making them a huge target for cybercriminals. Downloading updates and installing them can sometimes be tedious, but the advantages you get from the updates are certainly worth it.
