Many download sites come with installers enabled. "Installers" basically means Adware installer alert! However, not every custom download site comes with an installer. To help everyone, we should keep a list of avoided and safe download sites. You should reply to this topic (or PM me) about possible sites that are safe or should be avoided, or of an incorrect placement.
List:
Avoid:
-Cnet Download: http://www.download.cnet.com
-Softonic: http://www.softonic.com
-Brothersoft: http://www.brothersoft.com
-FreewareFiles: http://www.freewarefiles.com
-Source Forge: http://www.sourceforge.net
-Tucows: http://www.tucows.com
-Toggle: http://www.toggle.com
Safe:
-Downloadcrew: http://www.downloadcrew.com/
-Softpedia: http://www.softpedia.com
-Snapfiles: http://www.snapfiles.com
ESET Smart Security also blocks FreewareFiles:
but everything else slipped through.
Please contribute to this and help expand this list!
