I'm glad you could recover your lost passwords, but that software proves how insecure it is to save passwords in your browsers. Some malwares could very well do the same, and send said that remotely. If you don't use 2FA, then it's game over.

That and the fact that you forgot your passwords could be a good opportunity to start using a password manager ;)

Yes it means old age syndrome and I used to use Lastpass but not sure that is anymore secure now days. That is one of the first targets the bad guys will go for. If they want you, they will get you no matter what. And it was a password I had not used in a very long time, but thanks for the warning.
 
It all depends on the use that each one makes of this and similar software.
It can be good for personal reasons as in your case, or it can be used for fraudulent purposes, for example to steal authentication data from unattended computer, at your office, at your work place, etc.
As mentioned above, it is much better to use a good password manager.
