Baidu Spark = Chromium based which performance will be always an edge especially the HTML5 capabilities, features like Torrent downloader is common for browser derivatives.
Maxthon = Two engines (Trident (IE) and Webkit (Safari) ) which you can toggle for Ultra Mode or Retro mode ( some webpage which uses older HTML capabilities).
Performance varies but usually Chromium based is in favor on most category of test.
