I uninstalled Kaspersky IS 2017 & tried but the same stuck prob.

I will wait & see how it goes in couple of days.

After installing the updates through @Kardo Kristal direct links, does everybody agree that it's a smart idea to clear the Windows Update cache?

There are problems with the update stalling on 45%,49%,etc. I had one of my PC's stuck on 45% and downloaded the standalone update installer and did it manually without any problems.

Yeah

I wanted to try Avast Free with Hardened Mode so KIS uninstall gave the chance to try it And running Avast now.

I too am stuck at 45% everytime I try...But I will wait couple days & see if & when the prob is automatically solved or not.
