Microsoft Solitaire Collection, which is the modern interpretation of the classic Solitaire game that was available in Windows, has received a major update on Android, with the company itself describing it as “the biggest update yet.”

Currently at version 1.5.2171.0, Microsoft Solitaire comes with the majority of features that are available on Windows, including five card games (Klondike, Spider, Freecell, TriPeaks, and Pyramid), but also with daily challenges and Xbox Live support.

And thanks to this update, Solitaire gets support for all five game modes in immersive modes, as well as new layouts which Microsoft says were designed for improved look and playability.
Furthermore, Microsoft has introduced new and improved deal and draw buttons in Pyramid and TriPeaks modes, as well as a new collapsible stacks feature for Spider. Android users are also being provided with options that make playing easier on a smartphone, such as support for a flick up gesture that sends cards to the foundation instantly.

Not all users are pleased with the changes
Microsoft says on Facebook that some users actually gave negative reviews following these changes, explaining that they don’t agree with the layout improvements that are part of this release.

“In our latest update, we’ve improved the board layouts for all game modes to make it easier to see and interact with the cards. We also have left/right handed mode, so if you think things should be on the other side, you can easily change this in Game Options (set ‘Left Hand Mode’ on or off),” the firm says.

To play the new Solitaire game on a smartphone powered by Google operating system, Android 4.4 and up is required, and although the game is developed by Microsoft, it still comes with in-app purchases to unlock certain features.

At the same time, some features are not available just yet, with both “Themes” and “StarClub” listed as coming soon within the app.

If you want to try out this new version of the game, you can download Microsoft Solitaire Collection APK here and try out all the improvements mentioned above on your phone.
