Microsoft has rolled out a new system to let Hotmail users report when their friends' accounts are hacked - even if the friend is using Gmail.

If a hacker accesses a contact's account and starts spewing spam, Hotmail users can tick a field in the "Mark As" section saying "my friend's been hacked".

The account will be frozen to keep the hacker from sending any more spam or malware, and users will be able to regain control of their account by answering a few security questions.

Nice feature! Takes the awkwardness out of telling people you barely know that they are spamming you.
