For those who run Linux Mint, this might be for you.

Was originally released a few days ago but I only got around to play with it now due to RL.

17.3 Rosa has been released and features:
MATE:
MATE 1.12, MDM 2.0, a Linux kernel 3.19 and an Ubuntu 14.04 package base.
LibreOffice 5
Orca screen reader
OpenVPN support available out of the box
Device Manager improvement (tho for me I seen no difference due to my hardware)
Touchpad improvements
Additional window managers available: Openbox (Finally!!!)

Cinnamon:
Cinnamon 2.8, MDM 2.0, a Linux kernel 3.19 and an Ubuntu 14.04 package base.
LibreOffice 5
Orca screen reader
OpenVPN support available out of the box
Device Manager improvement (tho for me I seen no difference due to my hardware)
Various improvements to Cinnamon and applets

Note that in the repos, kernel 4.2.0 is also available but I would not recommend updating it. I personally used to use ubuntu's mainline kernel updates instead of Linux Mint repos ones, when I used mint. On my Debian, I use backports compiled kernels.

In any case if you wish to update to 4.2.0 kernel from Linux Mint repos, beware that following drivers do not work with it:
fglrx (ATI/AMD Drivers)
ndiswrapper (Windows Wireless Drivers)

Enjoy.

I just run MATE. However, I am going to try out Cinnamon 2.8 and see how it is. Hopefully, Cinnamon is not as glitchy as usual ;).

Only thing I do not like in both MATE and Cinnamon is well, memory usage on idle. Specially Cinnamon, which can sometimes compare it to KDE setups I run, tho I have yet to try Cinnamon DE on Arch and Debian to compare it further.
