What I'm looking for?

Looking for minimum feedback.

Im pretty sure i will pass that 300k easily. Runescape somehow making so much queries its pretty much gonna be paid nextDNS for me whenever cap is full. Or find some other solution.

Is there any other way to block newly registered domains? Adguard dns has this feature, but i wish they would add it to adguard itself.

ps. my computer is pretty much online like 15 hours a day

edit: did config changes 17.1.2026

+ Microsoft defender with DefenderUI
+ Microsoft edge with bitwarden + norton safe web
+ Adguard for windows as adblocker
+ Adguard DNS - NRD - blocked, hagezi pro list + most abused TLDS list enabled.

I have 3 years of adguard dns left, and in 3 years it matures, since their DNS is still newish. After 3 years i probably can still grab 5 year license for 30$, but i might do that before

I decided to stop using those limited query accounts; you want to offer free tier, limit the options, not the query number.

I disable DNR (too many FP), so using ControlD with Hagezi list offer almost the same protection by NextDNS, except for DNS rebinding (which does not pass ControlD test, only the DNS rebinding list by Hagezi of AG pass).

Do you use Cache Boost? I do not and I hardly hit 200k on PC and 50k on mobile.
I use a separate email for each for easy management, each email gives you 300k. 🤫
I use 3 aliases for the same email account, I get 900 K per month; just replacing the DoH address in the browser.
Still I do not prefer a limited query account; limited features would be more convenient.

The problem with adguard dns is that it routes dns throught sweden, even im living at finland. So its either nextDNS or cloudflare malware blocking dns for me and im going with the second one

Anyway i did clean install after trying zonealarm once again.

Now im using
+ kaspersky premium on default settings
+ adguard with hagezi pro ( recommended list) + Cloudflare malware blocking dns
+ Firefox with bitwarden

- disabled SAC as it interfers with the armoury crate app

Anyways im going to stick this for now on main pc, on laptop i probably keep trying new stuff, but im planning to use kaspersky premium for now as it has served me well past years. Sorry for spam in security setup changes, but

Managed to use kaspersky for 1 month, after reading out sophos thread i have been running sophos free like a week on my main desktop

Current setup
- Sophos home free
- Appcheck from checkmal
- Adguard ( with cloudflare malware blocking dns)
- Microsoft edge with norton safe web

What was the problem with Kaspersky, or the negative attitude? I'm curious about it.

nothing negative against kaspersky, i like it but on family devices members tend to close kaspersky on android and it will disable the web protection aswell, with sophos you can close sophos from notifications but it wont shut the protection down

And i prefer having same setup on every device , sure i cant have appcheck on android but otherwise its same setup:)

- removed sophos ( because sophos file scanner was running constantly using cpu, and the lack of updates in overall)

+ Added bitdefender total security ( 17 eur for year license )
+ Added brave , because firefox on android did not work with bitdefeder somehow

edit: yeah ive always been kinda believer that its bugdefender after first impressions, so well see how it goes this time. atleast its better cpu wise than sophos, sure ram wise it eats alot but unsused ram is wasted ram

I always found Bitdefender to work well. My issue was the big update write size, which in the grand scheme really isn’t much for the TBW ratings of most SSDs these days. Also for a while game mode would get stuck on if the Epic Store app was running, even without a game running. They fixed that, but then game mode wouldn’t trigger for any games launched from Epic. Not a big deal, or major bug, but those were the only real problems I ever had. I think I had a network problem with the Internet Security firewall, but I can’t remember what it was, don’t think it was a deal breaker, just a minor annoyance.

Edit: looking back it was blocking Xbox live on PC by blocking Toredo with the firewall. So I guess only a problem for me since I tend to play Call of Duty every year quite a bit.

thanks for letting me know about those issues, my niece does gaming on my pc alot and usually uses platforms like epic games, steam and so on. I have to check if the gaming mode works correctly whenever were playing some games.

Sure i have kinda end-tier pc for gaming and the antivirus of any kind doesnt make it ''slow'' really, except the zonealarm wich has some serious performance issues.

Only problem i have seen so far was slow download speed on some apps i installed, because firewall somehow conflicted with the downloader:unsure:

The only AV I’ve ever seen affect frame rates was AVG (I assume at the time Avast had the issue too). No matter what I did the frame rates were 8% lower than with Microsoft Defender or any other AV I tried. The last time I tested AVG and BD was 2023 I think, so this all could have changed by now. But I reported the issue about the 8% drop to AVG and never heard anything back.

Excellent choices; I currently like both Bitdefender and Brave. My problem with both was excessive SSD writes, which Brave resolved in my most recent test. I'm now waiting for Bitdefender to address this as well.

It's for the best. FF on Android is a security risk. Nightmare might be more appopriate.
You mean sandboxing & site isolation right? Also about:config still missing from stable firefox on android...o_O

Here are the supported browsers that bitdefender supports, and firefox doesnt work properly even it says its supported
