What I'm looking for?

Looking for medium feedback.

6.8.2025

- Switched from GrapheneOS back to PixelOS, i had no issues but i wanted to try workaround to get my pixelOS working correctly, and i found a way to enable advanced protection once again, also managed to find my backups etc.

Since im using advanced protection and it adds extra protection to google chrome, i was thinking antivirus that works with chrome...f-secure and trend micro came to my mind as first ( sure all antiviruses support major browser aka google chrome)

So my new setup is
- PixelOS
- Advanced protection enabled
- Google chrome as browser
- Adguard for android as adblocker
- Trend micro as antivirus ( i have 8 years of license stacked currently )

Also updated to latest security patch (august)

New config as 13.8.2025

+ Microsoft edge as browser
+ Adguard for android as adblocker
+ Adguard vpn for android as VPN
+ Adguard Paid DNS as dns
+ advanced protection enabled on android settings
+ duckduckgo as search engine

I went simply for microsoft + adguard combo

14.8.2025

- Removed adguard for android
- Removed adguard vpn
- Removed adguard dns

replaced adblocking with ublock origin lite in edge for android

If they continue adding extensions might considering adding security extension, but for now its only canary that supports all extensionsn and im not canary man

4.9.2025
Updated to new feature/security patch of september
Material 3 looks impressive!

Anyways the config nowadays match my computer

+ Kaspersky premium as antivirus
+ Adguard as adblocker
+ Adguard as VPN
+ Adguard as DNS
+ Firefox as browser
+ Google advanced protection enabled

How do you compare your experience after using both stock Pixel and GOS? 🤔
I like pixelOS more than GOS, for me it seemed just as same as pixelOS but with extra privacy/security features
If youre geek you probably like all that extra stuff what you can manage but for average user pixelOS is better to stick with

GOS wasnt ''woah'' experiement for me, i probably would be using it still if it was better in my opinion
If i someday move to linux on desktop i probably will move to GOS aswell but since im using windows, i dont mind having googleOS running too

So TLDR would be theyre same for me but GOS is just extra privacy/security and for people that are geeks mostly or just care about data handled by big corporations

6.9.2025

- Removed microsoft launcher ( Sticking to pixel launcher ). Also microsoft launcher has been using alot of battery since pixel got material desing 3
+ Added Onenote as note app, since it had my microsoft launcher notes synced already

8.1.2026

This is my new setup for 2026 year

Browser: Microsoft edge with ublock origin lite + norton safe web
DNS: cloudflare malware blocking DNS

No antivirus anymore.

tldr: found out today edge supports now every extension in edge store, and supports norton safe web too. Whats great it supports finnish languange, so i installed it on every family device on edge browser

One of the reasons I prefer Edge is the exclusive Norton safe web extension.

yeah, added it to desktop, and on my google pixel 6a. But on my mothers samsung devices ( phone + tab) it seems edge works differently and i could not add other extensions than the default ones like ublock origin lite in there. Anyways im sure its coming later available hopefully.

Browsers are fastest in their ecosystem.
Edge performance in Windows is unbeatable; the same applies to Chrome in Android.
The only problem for Chrome in Android is lack of extensions.

21.1.2026

+ Installed grapheneOS
+ Kaspersky premium as antivirus
+ Adguard as adblocker, added hagezi pro ( recommended) list
+ Cloudflare malware blocking dns enabled in adguard
+ Firefox as browser

Reason for GOS, is that pixelos is buggy when it comes to updates, i was stuck in november patch. Now im at january patch, having january security updates and so on..
