No complaints here. You can build on your setup by adding a second-opinion scanner for anything that Norton may miss. I recommend Zemana AntiMalware, Emsisoft Emergency Kit, and/or Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. Got any files on your computer worth keeping? If yes, I recommend backing them up. Ransomware can be quite nasty.

Edit: You may find uBlock Origin to be a bit more responsive than AdBlock as well.

Thanks guys
uBlock is successfully added
what do you mean by OS updates - Manual?
I don't know it just asks me to update if there is any new update and I have the choice to update or not.. that's what I mean
Data & System backup solutions also
you mean backing up to drive ? because I don't know anything when it comes to backup .. The only backup in my life is Itunes backup Lol :D
recommend Zemana Anti-Malware Free and X-Sec CommandLine Scanner
Can I add both of them ? .. they won't interfere with my Norton AV right ?

Its strange...you are running Win 10 Home & it doesn't have manual updates or notify for updates options...how come it asks you for updates?

You added uBlock or uBlock Origin? Both are different & uBlock Origin is better. And do remove Adblock after adding uBlock Origin.

Just add Zemana Antimalware Free. It has install & portable version. I use portable. Its on you to use any...I would suggest portable. And it will not interfere with Norton. Its an ondemand scanner only. If it asks to start trial version...choose NO.
And if you scan with Zemana & it detects something...dont remove outright...search or ask here...Zemana do gives FPs.

Windows default back up can backup the system image - your whole working OS image along with system files where it is installed + you can also choose other personal folders/files and drives which you need backed up.It is advisable to create a local backup on external media( external HD) for safekeeping. If disaster strikes(malware, installations gone wrong, etc) and your windows does not boot, you can use the system image to get back the OS as it was when you backed it up.

There are also a few third party softwares which can do the job easily- Macrium reflect free, AOMEI Backupper, etc. If you do not have an external drive for backups give AOMEI onekey a try.

Another way to backup if you have less amount of data - backup your files manually or use online services like google drive, one drive, box , mega, etc.

mmm it asked me when I had windows 8 so I can update to 10 since then didn't hear from them .. I guess that means It's updating automatically :D
Just add Zemana Antimalware Free.
Thanks for the recommendation .. what about Emsisoft Emergency Kit is it better ? and if I added MCshield also would that be too much or it's fine :)

I dont use Emsisoft Emergency. And I dont use MCShield. For USB protection I just disable auto-play on system.

If & when the system gets infected you have to try various scanners or reinstall OS...otherwise Zemana is fine for me to check the system.

If you want you can keep Emsisoft & give MCShield a try.

Nanoosh,

It seems you dont have much knowledge on security, backup, etc... stuffs.

I would advise to understand stuffs well & then give a try especially backup stuffs.

It is still advised to manually copy important files to an external media (pendrive, HDD, etc),or upload them online for the purpose of backup and this change is reflected in the config above. As the OP gains more knowledge, additional security layers and complex backups can be added.Besides, enough guides are available online and if any problem arises MT community is here to help.

With on-demand scanners, the engines will be different so the detection will be different. There have been malware files that EEK has found that ZAM has not, and vice versa. It is possible to have ZAM, EEK and MBAM all at once, alongside Norton without issue. All 3 are free, so try them out for yourself.
