Hello guys! I've tried everything from this thread How to remove Play-Bar.net redirect (Virus Removal Guide) to remove the playbar.net malware but it seems to keep persisting. As you can see in the picture below, this malicious search bar still exists.

I have 1) reset google chrome; 2) delete and reinstalled google chrome; 3) install karspersaky, malwarebytes, hitmanpro, spyhunter. By far only spyhunter identified playbar and network plus but charge money for deleting them. I would appreciate your help, guys. Thanks!

Hello,

Please download Zemana AntiMalware and save it to your Desktop.
  • Install the program and once the installation is complete it will start automatically.
  • Without changing any options, press Scan to begin.
  • After the short scan is finished, if threats are detected press Next to remove them.
Note: If restart is required to finish the cleaning process, you should click Reboot. If reboot isn't required, please restart your computer manually.
  • Open Zemana AntiMalware again.
  • Click on
    4zu6vb.jpg
icon and double click the latest report.
  • Now click File > Save As and choose your Desktop before pressing Save.
  • The only left thing is to attach saved report in your next message.

Hello,

Thank you very much for your kind help. Following your suggestion, I installed the Zemana AntiMalware and scanned the whole system. It happened to be I have used this software actually last night. So I attached two reports for your reference. Unfortunately no related virus has been identified.

On the other hand, I have read through this forum and found a similar topic about playbar.net problem and this case seems to be solved. I am not sure if there exists any similarities and this solution can be used in my case.
SOLVED - Playbar.net still persisting

Again, thank you very much for your kind help!

This fix was created for this user for use on that particular machine.

Running it on another one may cause damage and render the system unstable.

Download attached fixlist.txt file and save it to the Desktop:

Both files, FRST and fixlist.txt have to be in the same location or the fix will not work!

  • Right-click on
    FRST.gif
    icon and select
    RunAsAdmin.jpg
Run as Administrator to start the tool.
(XP users click run after receipt of Windows Security Warning - Open File).
  • Press the Fix button just once and wait.
  • If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
  • When finishes FRST will generate a log on the Desktop, called Fixlog.txt.

Please attach it to your reply.

Hello,

I download the file and fix the machine following your suggestions. Actually before using the fixlist, somehow the playbar.biz search engine at the first page disappeared but the following problem remained.

It remains to be seen if this exists after using the fixlist. Also I attached the fixlog in this reply.

Again, many thanks for your time and help!

Hello,

I think this time the web page becomes quite clean and no malware appeared for the whole day. However, maybe the cleaning is too much, some of my professional software, e.g, Solidworks cannot be opened due to a failure of loading .net framework. This issue is quite painful and I reinstalled my computer eventually. I am sorry I am not be able to provide the latest scan document.

Again many thanks for your kind and professional help!
