I fell for the scam, clicked on "run" for file aa_v3.exe. I cannot find anything like this on my computer, but then, I am not that smart. Obviously. Need help. Thanks!
need help on the aa_v3 from ammyy. i think i downloaded a virus.

Download attached fixlist.txt file and save it to the Desktop:
Both files, FRST and fixlist.txt have to be in the same location or the fix will not work!
- Right-click on
icon and select
Run as Administrator to start the tool.
(XP users click run after receipt of Windows Security Warning - Open File). - Press the Fix button just once and wait.
- If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
- When finished FRST will generate a log on the Desktop, called Fixlog.txt.
Please attach it to your reply.
Please download AdwCleaner by Xplode and save the file to your Desktop.
- Right-click on
icon and select
Run as Administrator to start the tool.
- Wait until the database is updated.
- Accept the Terms of use and click Scan.
- When finished, please click Clean.
- Upon completion, click Report. A log (AdwCleaner[S*].txt) will open.
Please include the contents of that file in your reply.
Note: Reports will be saved in your system partition, usually at C:\Adwcleaner

I think fine. I did not really notice anything after the scammer called this morning and I (despite my better judgment) clicked on "run" for the aa_v3 file, but from the limited and quick searching I did I understood that was a scam and likely I had downloaded a virus or some bad code. My PC seems to work fine now. I was concerned that credit card or other financial information would have been accessible to the scammer, so I guess I will just wait and see what (if anything) might happen. Thanks for your help!

Post-cleanup procedures:
Download DelFix by Xplode and save it to your desktop.
- Run the tool by right click on the
icon and Run as administrator option.
- Make sure that these ones are checked:
- Remove disinfection tools
- Purge system restore
- Reset system settings
- Push Run and wait until the tool completes his work.
- All tools we used should be gone. Tool will create an report for you (C:\DelFix.txt)
