Need help with Malware testing.

Hi,
I need help with testing malware on a VM on a MacBook,
I need some good programs, and I have no idea how to do this.

I do not want the malware spreading to my Gaming PC which is a separate Windows device.
All I need to do to test malware is; (please correct me if I am wrong)
download malware on VM
Get VPN
Switch VPN to another country
Right? and what are some good settings for a VM? any suggestion for a VM on mac?

Please don't take this the wrong way, but, if you have to ask these questions you shouldn't be testing malware.

Virtualbox has a OSX version.
since you're on OSX and you're testing Windows malware, you don't necessarily have to be careful except infecting devices on the network, so make sure to use a VPN inside the VM.
