UAC on max and always asking for password plus Appguard makes sure I know everything that get executed on my PC, Avira on real time for extra security and an outbound software firewall to keep programs from phoning home.
Ondemand anti-malware for eventual scans and all browsers inside Sandboxie.
never got infected.

Nekomata3, thank you for sharing your secure sounding 'Lockdown' Windows configuration.:) Everything I've recognized, your scanners, Avira, Sandboxie, and Add-ons, are measures I use similarly myself.:D I've used Adblock plus for a long time, but look forward to forth coming ad blockers, AdGuard & Admuncher to become stable. Both shall be free Add-ons for Firefox (gecko engine) based browsers. I'd actually looked up your Extended Service Release Firefox! Two x64 bit Firefox-like browsers I recommend are:
  1. Cyberfox https://8pecxstudios.com/
  2. Pale Moon http://www.palemoon.org/
Try LastPass https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/lastpass-password-manager/#id=8542 for encrypted password security. It makes life easier & safer too!

'Asking for password plus Appguard' is definitely something I'm going to look into further, too.;) Thanks!:D

Update: @Nekomata3, Here's a page (Thanks to Terry Ganzi!):D to request email notification when AdMuncher Free Version 5 (formerly $29 U.S.D.) is released http://www.murrayhurps.com/blog/ad-muncher-announcement *go to bottom of page :):)
