You should enable OS file reputation. And seeing how you got infected in the past 3 months, smartscreen might have prevented it.

OS file reputation is a must... also add HTTPS Everywhere and use a script blocker and you should be fine. You could also use a DNS service with filters, like OpenDNS or others. I found OpenDNS to be very fast and reliable.

You can add CCleaner for your additional maintenance program.

Optional you can add an Anti-exe based if you want which deals on whitelisting. (Voodoshield or SecureAplus)

I would suggest enabling SmartScreen.
Consider adding an additional on demand scanner(s).
