Dear Beta tester,

We’re happy to inform you that our engineering team has successfully created two new product Beta versions for testing:
  • AVG 2012 Small Update 2 Beta
  • AVG ThreatLabs Chrome Extension
The “Small Update 2” is applicable to everyone running any previous version of AVG 2012 and consists of multiple enhancements, under-the-hood improvements and fixes.

AVG ThreatLabs Chrome Extensions is a new plugin that can be added to Google Chrome browser and provides useful information related to your browsing security with the support from AVG’s LinkScanner technology.

You can find more details and both projects for joining at the Beta portal:

We’re looking forward to your comments and feedback. Should you have any questions regarding AVG Beta program, please contact us at the e-mail address below.

Happy bug hunting,
Jiri Tuma

After successfully installing AVG Threat Labs Site Safety Beta, a new tab is launched:

How it displays information:

How it looks in Chrome:

Visiting a potentially dangerous website:

Works with AVG LinkScanner, though I do not have it installed.

Maybe they solve excessive consumption of resources. Up to version 8 was an excellent antivirus (in all respects).
