Even members on PCTools forum thought ThreatFire was abandoned, but PCTools just released a new version of their free behavior-blocker.

What's new in ThreatFire 4.7.0.48:
  • Improved detection in x64 operating systems (Vista and Windows 7)
  • More robust integration
  • Improved socialization
  • Fixed issues with WinDVD, GameMaker
  • Updated drivers
  • Updated language files
  • Lots of bug fixes

As you can see this is mainly a much needed bug-fix release, but they also plan future versions that will improve performance and add new features.

The link on their download page still points to the old 4.7.0 release from 2009, but you can get the new version here.

The latest version of Threatfire 4.7.0.48 and Sandboxie 3.52 conflict with eachother unde Windows 7 32 bit (at least). After installing Threatfire, sandboxie becomes unusable and returns an error message each time I try to start a sandboxed application. The error is: SBIE2204 Cannot start sandboxed service RpcSs.
