Hi, mrc109 first post. I came here looking for answers about pup's and other things that want me to launch them without my knowledge as to what it is and what it is doing on my system. I know just enough computer stuff to be dangerous. I have Windows XP Pro on one system and Win. 7 on another. I am a stick in the mud and prefer my XP over the Win. 7. I haven't really given Win. 7 a fair hearing yet so I guess that makes me prejudiced.

Welcome to your membership with this terrific site mrc109, and if letting go of the familiar (in order to embrace what is new) qualifies one to be deemed a 'Stick-In-The-Mud', then pass me my stick & show me to the mud! I can honestly relate to not having had to relinquish the trusty crafts (slow & steady) we maintain respectively known as XP. In our household we also have a Windows 7 SP 1, and find it has become our favorite resident system. This has also made it my wife's preferred vehicle online! Typing this post from the newest, and (now) much more smoothly behaving 8.1, thanks to our friends, such Wizened Oracles (Staff & members here) at Malware Tips!
