Norton PC Checkup is a FREE downloadable tool that automatically scans your computer for potential problems each week. It gives you a personalized in-depth report of your computer’s health and potential security risks to help you find and eliminate problems, improve security, and keep your computer running like new.

NortonLive PC Checkup will:

-Conduct a full system scan of your computer after installation.
-Identify viruses, spyware, or other threats on your computer.
-Run a custom computer performance and startup item scan.
-Parse your Windows Event Log to identify problems.
-Run wireless networking security diagnostics.
-Check your Power Management profile.
-Assess firewall operation.
-Check backup and restore capability.
-Evaluate RAM, hard drive, video card, and motherboard.
-Create a report of findings with links to solutions for problems found.
-Automatically conduct a full system scan each week.
-Automatically update virus definitions for timely protection.
-Run quick scans when your computer is idle to alert you to problems between weekly scans.

I guess.
at the time we finished our checks your PC or laptop with it.
we will definitely get an offer to purchase Symantec products.
and when it has been using products from Symantec, and we check with the Norton PC Checkup. Norton PC Checkup will not be useful anymore.
because we have used a product from Symantec. :dodgy:

I'm not a big fan of these products as most of these are only meant to attract potential buyers into buying their software. So mostly you can think of it as Adware.

Old software for old operating systems.

McAfee, BitDefender have similar programs like this, they are junk software.

Also Windows itself (Security Center / Action Center) will notify you, if you do not have the recommended software(s)/settings installed.

Nice find, but I don't really like this kind of software as well like the others. Only slows down your computer instead of boosting it.

This is just relatively a part of advertising and promote a certain products. And next thing it will be bundled in some software and pre installed machine.

Nothing important...

Norton PC Checkup - Not like Norton Security Scan.

Norton Security Scan - Interestingly, it downloads 170MB of definition files.

Totally agree just a piece of Junk, it only purpose is to advertise to get you to buy. Just because they give you a free scan, doesn't mean the software is freeware if it doesn't fix the issues and problems for free.

Thanks.:D
