I don't think there is a thread like this, but I remember using a security product for a few years, which had the best design of it's time (and even now).

I also prefer the "Haute Secure " version.
Avast version looks less well designed. But the information text displayed seems clearer.
(Too many words on the "Haute Secure " version )

That's basically the same UI. I loved that UI, nowadays Avast loves to hide Quarantine and other tools
