Caution: MT is really addictive!!
I would recommend to start with linux distro KISS ( Keep It Simple Stupid ) .
My favorites are those based on Xfce Desktop. I would start with Manjaro or Voyager

If you want to try linux take Linuxmint ! Based on ubuntu (who is based on debian and Rapberry Pi are on Debian), Linuxmint had a very user-freindly interface and uncomplicared packtage management.

Linux contains lots of distros and derivatives, so it contains minimal differences; you may try Zorin OS which a similar like to Windows so it should be easily use.
