Attackers don't disable the AV these days because that sets off alarms, they turn on gaming mode/silent mode where updates/scans are disabled so attacks slip through. L Local Host Mar 17, 2020 #2 AVs are disabled, and passwords can be bypassed, they only good to secure your device locally, same as Windows Password. Plus gaming mode disabling updates and/or scans, won't affect the detection rates, unless you haven't been updating your database for months. Either way, that form of detection is ancient and the majorly of AVs rely on behaviours blockers and cloud, neither affected by gaming mode.
