Gamers can also choose from a range of other options
The team at Sony in charge of the PlayStation 4 might have recently launched the 3.0 firmware update for the home console, but it seems to be already working on a new major set of features for the platform and trying to get a feel of what the user base is interested in.

A new survey sent to a select number of gamers, one of whom has posted some details on the NeoGAF forums, is suggesting some of the improvements that might be introduced and aims to see which of them are the most interesting for the player base.

Sony is talking about potentially launching more PlayStation 2 and PS One classics on its new home console, and gamers might also be interested in a potential option to change the ID they use on the PlayStation Network.

Other choices that the company is promoting include: notifications for the moment when friends go online, folders, an option to appear offline, remove items from library, more options to filter content on the PS4 and the PSN, download avatars, custom backgrounds, store wish list and increased number of people in a party.

Presumably, Sony intends to see how the various options fare among users before seeing how difficult each one is to actually implement.

Another section of the PlayStation 4 focused survey also asks gamers when they are expecting firmware update 4.0 for the device to arrive, with options ranging from before the end of this year to 2017.

Sony is trying to make its console more attractive
Apparently, the company will aim to deliver the big new firmware update for its home console towards the middle of next year and will, in the meantime, tweak smaller features or fix bugs that the player community flags.

The recently introduced 3.0 is designed to offer more social options and to make it easier for gamers to upload video content and to show off images from their favorite video games.

At the moment, the PlayStation 4 is the best-selling device from the current generation of consoles, moving more units than the Xbox One from Microsoft in both the United States and all over the world.

Sony is implementing a 50 dollar or Euro price cut in order to make sure that it keeps its lead during the crucial holiday shopping period.

The company is also aiming to link the PlayStation 4 to the big launches of the fall, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 and Star Wars: Battlefront, because they can deliver a solid boost to hardware sales.

Meanwhile, Microsoft is introducing a number of bundles, built around Rise of the Tomb Raider and Halo 5: Guardians, and plans to deliver a very attractive Black Friday bundle for the Xbox One.

The home console is also supposed to get an entirely new user experience, built around Windows 10, at some point in November.

At the same time, gamers will also receive access to a full backwards compatibility feature that will allow them to play older titles, as long as the original publisher gives them the option.

There going to make me buy as PS4 :D
