i made a thread on driver update software and ive seen some threads on this forum for example like iobit driver booster these threads should be locked, links removed and any thread relating to driver updates should be banned as these programs cause more instability than actual hlp in a users computer

It is a user's fault if they download "driver update" software, although I do agree with banning topics them as they do cause only more problems.

Maybe a simpler solution is to require a note that "Members most use caution when using these types of software as they sometimes cause problems"
Jack is the ultimate authority on banning these types of software from the forums. However there are some who use these and do not have any problems so in the end it is the members choice.
If and when these are banned members should report these posts but at this point in time they are not banned. Thanks :)

Hello

While third-party Driver Updater software may not an ideal solution for most PC users. It's not necessarily malicious or harmful, although it may portray incorrect information for the specific user.

A lot of new software come with their own Updater / Updating service. Or can updated manually from the software or manufacturers' support website. For example:
- AMD Catalyst ( http://support.amd.com/en-us )
- NVidia GeForce ( http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx )
- Intel ( https://downloadcenter.intel.com/ )
and many others.

I do not think "banning" this type of software is a good solution, as it does not prevent other PC users from using the software. Also many have different views on all sorts of software, for example, registry cleaners.

Driver updater must use with precautionary measures since if the driver is working well then why you wsnted to update for? Its different when it comes from software.
