What is polymorphic virus and which AV are capable of detecting these types of virus?

General definition

A virus that changes its virus signature (i.e., its binary pattern) every time it replicates and infects a new file in order to keep from being detected by an antivirus program.

In this generation, Antivirus evolve lots of techniques and as we use like HIPS/BB should prevent this action cause behavior couldn't change when its going to be suspicious.

All AV should be prevent these things well.

When it comes to polymorphic viruses - believe it or not - Avira has been one of the very best followed by Kaspersky and F-Secure.

F-Secure will give false positives - not a problem if user has good awareness of legitimate files.
