There has been a lot of debate about internet throttling over the last year and companies such as Comcast and Verizon
have denied they slow down internet traffic to certain website, but a newly posted video on YouTube from Colin Nederkoorn shows an entirely different story.
In the video Nederkoorn, is using a Verizon Fios connection and is initially running a video through Netflix through his network connection. When doing this the video took a long time to initialize and the bitrate for the video was only 375kb/s. However, when he switched to a VPN and ran the video again the video not only started right away, but it also had a bitrate of 3000kb/s.
The video seems legit. There is no indication Nederkoorn was skewing the results. In these cases it is not usually the everyday Joe that is lying. Companies are usually the ones making false claims and it isn’t until a whistleblower comes out or lawsuit happens that we finally get the truth.
