For this moment Proton offer 13 country with 4/IP

What are PLUS users?

Proton mail are in a good position ( geographically and legally ) to create a truly excellent
and trustworthy VPN service .... it is definitely one to watch .

Autistici have been offering a VPN service to users of their mail system for sometime now ,
but it's not exactly easy to get an account with them

@Umbra I'm guessing it means premium ( paying ) users of Proton mail ?

@Quassar surely 13 countries means 13 IP addresses to choose from ?

nah 13 contries per 4 ip for each one of them mean 13x4 but its curently but for sure with time they will add a lot more servers and features..

@Myriad YES only paid member of Proton Mail have access to beta VPN for free as Testers
I have to use same account ID/Pass as i have in Proton mail... i would/wish have diferent for more secure :S but i belive they will change it with time if beta test done.

1) Any Firewall, Kill Switch, DNS and WbRTC leak protection?
2) How many are Gigabit servers? All or some? Are the servers dedicated bare-metal or cloud-based?
3) Bandwidth limitation. Unlimited bandwidth is a bluff. Please say its 1TB or 2TB.
4) Any multi-hop?
5) How does it integrates with Tor in its ProtonMail?
6) What VPN protocols and encryption is it using?
7) Using dedicated or shared IP addresses?
8) Does it blocks ads, trackers, malwares, comes with anti-fingerprinting feature etc
9) Does it use cookies and 3rd-party tracking services?
10) What's its logging policy? NO LOG policy is bluffing. So what info are required of you?

In addition, countries like Japan, S Korea, Israel and Singapore are close allies of the US

Good questions , one and all .
Anyone considering using a VPN service from any provider should be asking those questions .

If these primary issues can't be answered to your satisfaction then it is probably all a waste of time .
A bad VPN can be worse than no VPN , in some ways .

The user is advertising to their ISP ( and many others ) that they are trying to keep their details private ,
but at the same time , leaking some of those very same details , unwittingly ..... Doh !

I noticed that in VPN comparison websites , some companies are touting the fact that they are based in Panama
or have servers there , or both .
It got me thinking that Panama has served the global shipping industry very well , for a very long time ,
providing them with a flag-of-convenience , and a legal registry .

It might be worth looking into a little more

They are just starting off. As they grow I suppose they'll add more servers and in more countries. Just wait and see

they fast improved proton mail so i belive it will something more than casual VPN.

I am PM user also. But my thoughts is they should be focused their "primary" thing what is "secure" - email, neither than put some VPN services also in the soup. But it all about business.
