Hello everyone!!!
My name is Todd Reese.
I guess you could say that I am an intermediate computer user.
I know just enough to get myself out of the most basic of computer jams, but when it comes to something REAL BIG like a major virus infection or a major malware infection I get lost if the solution to fix the problem isn't an obvious one!!!. I think that we have all been down that road at one time or another though, You update your security software on a regular basis, but You still wind up getting infected by all kinds of malicious software from viruses to keyloggers, You try everything that you already know to attempt to get rid of the infection, and nothing that you try works. Well when it comes right down to it, even though I cannot and will not remotely access someones computer to help them out, I am happy to do what I can to help someone out with a computer problem.

sounds like you got a lot of welcomes!

One thing to know about computer security is that it is never %100 fool-proof.
those nasty malwares will always find a way past a hundred protections -- if you let them in, that is.
So after all is said and done, you gotta be careful on the web, sometimes you don't even have to click, and you already got hit by malware.
Ask the folks here about smart browsing techniques . It's really important.

and since nothing is %100 fool-proof -- even wise browsing habits -- you should get yourself some system image software, and make backups. It's easy, and it's free. Ask the folks here about that, too. A lot of people like Macrium Reflect, but there are plenty of other good ways to do it.
