I recommend you disable smartscreen in your test OS

Test naked windows 8.1 with normal user account please (user account, not administrator)

Naked = ie+SmartScreen+firewall+Windows defender.

You need Microsoft Word and Java to run some samples in the pack. Don't try renaming them to exe, that won't work.
